In 1999, a group of volunteers approached the board of directors at Community Medical Center in Missoula about the possibility of locating a Ronald McDonald House on it's campus. Proving the need for such a facility and receiving permission from Ronald McDonald House Charities, Global was followed by Community Medical Center donating the land on which our facility is located. In 2001 Oz Architects was hired to design the House and fund raising began soon after.
The Ronald McDonald House, Missoula opened for it's first guests on April 12th, 2006. Since that time, we have had a 90-98% occupancy rate. Our families have found a clean, calm place to relax and be apart, at least for a little while, from the traumas that have brought them to Missoula. Comments like, "This is one thing we don't have to worry about. You are in a good safe place" and "I thank God every day for this House being here", let us know that we're doing the right things here in Missoula.
